10:43 AM

mood: smug
last night's sleep rating: B+
rounds: long over
who's late? nobody.

Sitting back in my office chair with my feet up. My serfs are toiling away in the conference room. Nobody's giving me mortified looks when I come down the hall -- we're back to the default state of low-grade dread, which is as it should be. And I will not be down in the clinic this afternoon. Except perhaps to taunt someone, probably Cuddy. And as long as I don't allow myself to think about that little chat with James, life is pretty good right now.

The bet ended just in the nick of time. It's cold and windy outside. But I'm fine.

A whole month without clinic duty! Oh, the possibilities....

Cold and windy = pain. Nick of time = Vicodin.

There are times to talk/think about things, and there are times not to... So, for now, Doc, I'll just say I'm glad to see you happy, for a welcome change. :-) And thrilled to see your 'sleep rating.' Please take excellent care of your broken fingers--I'm rather fond of your abilities as a pianist. Wilson always acts from a place of deep friendship and love for you, Doc. Remember that, as you're enjoying your clinic-free month.
