who was late? nobody
For those of you who are really into quantifying, I've had two cups of coffee and one Vicodin since arriving at work. Now go read something by Tufte and leave me alone.
I've got an hour or so before lunch; maybe I can make some progress on Cam's file. It's not fair. Vogler's gone; why is she still gone too? Why can't it be like it never happened?
Because it did happen. Because I can't do this... this stuff. If I had handled things better, she would still be here. And now Cuddy's got something new to nag me about.
Oh, apparently Anwar got voted off American Idol, which set my mother off again. What's she going to do when there's nobody left but the ones she wants gone? She should keep watching it, though, since it's getting her something else she wants. She's always fussing at me to call her more often, and lately I've been doing just that -- just to hear her throw her weekly conniption. So, America, do it for my mom -- vote Constantine!

If you truly want to be left alone, Doc, then don’t read this or leave it until your ‘snark-o-meter’ drops from “elevated risk of verbal ass-kicking” back down to “moderate chance of being labeled an ‘idiot’ or ‘moron,’ approach at your own risk.” ;-)
Hmmm… Too much caffeine, not enough Sugar would be my diagnosis, Doc. ;-) How’s the math coming along on that one? ;-) Have you calculated, yet, why subtracting Cam from the overall equation has decreased your “Ba Ba” quotient? ;-) I’m sure it’s just a result of having to make your own coffee and sort your own mail, again, right? ;-) After all, what *else* could it be? ;-)
I’m just listening to “Big Sugar’s” tune “Nicotina (She’s All That).” Here’s a sample of the lyrics: “Oh, yeah, she’s ‘all that…’ Sugar in my coffee, oh, yeah, makes me mean… Oh, yeah, she’s ‘all that…’”
Yeah, where the Hell’s the ‘reset button’ on this whole life thing? What, they can include it on a video game consul, but they can’t hook us up in the big bad world? What’s up with *that?* ;-) I guess the Buddhists would maintain that’s what ‘reincarnation’ is all about. ;-) Anything a person doesn’t do right, they ‘do over.’ Something tells me I’m going to be spinning around on this crazy karma wheel a long time, if that’s the case…
Doc, if you’d handled things differently, or worse, you might have lost the whole Department or still be under the “angry giant’s” thumb. Vogler was more like a natural disaster than a catalyst. While it’s true that catalysts initiate chemical reactions and remain unchanged, themselves, at the end of the process, *this* feels more like a twister blew through and swirled everything up into a big funnel cloud… Now, the storm’s passed, but everything’s still knocked off-kilter and no one knows the full extent of the damage, yet.
LOL about your Mom and the “Jury Girls.” Wish I could help, but I’m not one for “idol” pursuits. ;-) I *am* in the mood for some kickin’ tunes, glorious sunshine and writing, though, so I’ll leave you to your own devices and say, “Ciao!”
