A little good news: They found Fats Domino. The Neville brothers are okay too.

And I'm sure we're all relieved to hear that the New Orleans Saints are going to be playing this fall. That was keeping me up nights, I can tell you.

Meanwhile there are corpses floating around in the streets, and if they don't get those people out of the Superdome soon they're going to have dysentery to deal with. And I know I'm not the only one who's been thinking about cholera and typhoid.

I can only cling to the idea that it's Just One Of Those Things, on a grand scale. If I let myself start thinking about What This Means, I start getting even angrier, and then all of a sudden I hear that nun again in my head, Sister Copper Allergy: "You can't be angry at God and not believe in him...." And then I slump back in my chair because I don't care to think in that direction any further.
